Volkswagen plans to install 36,000 charging stations throughout Europe by 2025, of which 11,000 will be developed by the Volkswagen brand, which will be installed at Volkswagen's plants and about 3,000 Volkswagen dealers in most European towns.
Recently, Volkswagen Group announced that Volkswagen will deploy 36,000 charging stations throughout Europe by 2025, and the investment in the entire charging infrastructure is expected to be more than 250 million euros.


According to the plan, the Volkswagen Group hopes to launch about 80 new electric models in 2025. Another major measure for Volkswagen to seek a quick breakthrough in electric vehicles is the construction of charging infrastructure. Volkswagen plans to install 36,000 charging stations throughout Europe by 2025, of which 11,000 will be developed by the Volkswagen brand, which will be installed at Volkswagen's plants and about 3,000 Volkswagen dealers in most European towns. It will also be gradually open to the public.


In the construction of public charging stations, Volkswagen plans to establish a partnership with retail chains to allow customers to conveniently charge vehicles while shopping. Tesco in the UK has already started, and other chain stores will follow. Volkswagen also plans for a charging station on the highway, will install 400 fast charging stations on the highway with IONITY, and set up as many as 2,400 charging stations on major European routes and highways by 2020.
